I just got back from Tukwila, where I saw
benevola and
cpk installed as Worthy Matron and Patron of Delta Chapter #109 of the Grand Chapter of Washington, Order of the Eastern Star.
They have a lovely hall there, and the officers were all good at their work.

rime1994 and I were both planning on going, but Ael decided that running a 101+ fever today would be a Good Thing. Erin and the incoming Worthy Matron's daughter made friends fast, and they spent much of the time when the meeting wasn't in session (and, in Erin's case, some when it was *cough cough*) searching together for stray sequins from the ladies' dresses. Erin had worked up quite a collection by the time we left!
I got to be introduced at the start of the meeting as one of the 2005-2006 Worthy Matrons/Patrons: there were about five of us there, and about a dozen of the 2006-7 WM/WPs (one of whom introduced herself as "one day old" :-) ).
Our chapter, Golden Rod #22, is in Snohomish, which is quite a bit north of us, who are quite a bit north of Tukwila, so I hadn't met any of the members there before (with the possible exception of a couple of the members from Doric).
Donna and I have two meetings left as WM and WP of Golden Rod: it meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays. I'll be missing the next meeting, as Ael has a school event, but will be back for Canada Night later this month. We'll be leaving the East on April 1st: anyone on my flist who's interested in seeing what I'm rambling about is welcome to contact me for directions. :-)
Thanks to the officers and members of Delta for your hospitality today: the cake was yummy. :-)
