Geez, I didn't realize how badly my twitter updates were swamping my feed.

I had known about Scrabulous for some time, but I had only played the real-time version until my friend from college cyan_blue posted recently about her email games that had lapsed. She toasted me the first time, but I'm holding my own a bit better this time around. :-)

I've also been playing the Facebook version a bit: the other day I made the mistake of getting into two games at once, and had to think really quickly. :-)

It's rather amusing to me the way some of these played out: for example, I recognize the group of ladies that came in by way of Donna's LJ -- but why are they so far down the list? Phil and Kaja Foglio wound up on different levels, for some reason.

Last time I did this, I didn't recognize nearly as many names as I did this time around. Did the metric get better, or am I just reading more widely?

That was kind of weird...

I had friended someone whose nick I presume I picked up from metaquotes, on the grounds of a bunch of shared interests (Johnny Depp, Firefly, etc.) and an interesting writing style. After commenting in her journal a couple of times, I found myself banned from further commenting, on a non-friends-only journal that allowed anonymous comments. Not sure what I had done wrong, I pinged her through gmail, only to be ignored.

After a while, I left an anonymous comment on a recent post, "respectfully requesting" an explanation. I got one back. Apparently, I didn't understand the system here, that if someone doesn't friend you back, you're supposed to just go away. Commenting in her journal instead of disappearing is what got me banned. She asked me to defriend her so that she didn't have to make the journal friends-only; I complied.

I don't think I'm the one who doesn't understand the system, though...
