ADD - snagged from kiwislut
By way of [info]active_apathy:

  1. Comment on this post.
  2. I'll choose six of your icons and kind of o.O at them.
  3. You'll explain what they mean, or why they exist, or why you use them.
  4. If you want to, post your answers and this explanation in your journal so others might play along.

That's the emblem of the Order of the Eastern Star, a fraternal service organization affiliated with Freemasonry. My wife was a Rainbow Girl, and then a Star member: I joined Star so I could go to meetings with her.

Madness: I've been a Rocky Horror fan for a while, and it tickles me when people are overly literal...

Chemistry: Sometimes, people are just too obnoxious/clueless...

Technopeasant: A while back, the head of the Science Fiction Writers of America complained about members having the audacity to give their work away, and used the above phrase as an analogy with ink-stained copyists of days of yore. Said members took exception, and organized International PSTP Day, where they all released work for free. [info]dduane did this icon, and posted her story "Parting Gifts" on her site.

Vegetable envy: There were so many quotable lines in the Doctor Who Children in Need special, "Time Crash", the iconmakers will have work for months. :-) The 10th Doctor was ragging on the 5th Doctor for his lapel "decoration".

Funky: Buffy the Vampire Slayer text meets Star Wars images. I can _so_ see Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson delivering those lines instead of Nick Brendon and Anthony Stewart Head...

    Edit: ARGH, forgot the instructions!

TrustFlow results for [info]sarekofvulcan

I tried out TrustFlow II for LiveJournal. The following people not on the friends list for [info]sarekofvulcan are close by: More results below the cut... )

Created by ciphergoth; hosted by LShift.

TrustFlow II: Who is closest to your friends list?

It's rather amusing to me the way some of these played out: for example, I recognize the group of ladies that came in by way of Donna's LJ -- but why are they so far down the list? Phil and Kaja Foglio wound up on different levels, for some reason.

Last time I did this, I didn't recognize nearly as many names as I did this time around. Did the metric get better, or am I just reading more widely?

Scarfed from [info]filkertom: Pick five films you enjoy. Don't post their titles, just a relatively well-known quote from each.

  1. "I'm sorry. You're not a scab, you're just a fucking eejit." "That's more like it!" (Damn, wish I had the exact quote here)
  2. "And, and, foakin' and?"
  3. "Bugger."
  4. "You're all different!" "We're all different!" "I'm not..."
  5. "Prince, pray God that is Lord of all, Pardon your soul, for your time has come, Beat, pass! I fling you aslant, asprawl, Then as I end the refrain, thrust home!"

(You may have seen these posted in Tom's LJ, as well. If you read both of us, sorry...)

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview Me!" (or something of that ilk)
2. I will respond by asking you five questions.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

[info]qtheallpowerful asked me:

1. What is your Favorite Star Trek pairing?
Spock/Chapel

2. What is your Favorite tv show, other then Star Trek?
Hmm. Babylon 5, Firefly, and Carnivale are fighting it out for the top spot. Bab 5 probably wins for actually managing to finish the story. :-)

3. Who is your favorite author?
Diane Duane

4. What is your favorite book?
A Civil Campaign, by Lois McMaster Bujold

5. Do you like peanut butter?
Especially with chocolate.
